Hi All,

I'm evaluating AIDE for deployment in a new environment and I'm wondering
about the project status. It appears that there hasn't been a stable
release since September 2010, and the development mailing list is very
quiet. Is AIDE still alive?

Thanks,
Ben

Considering what it does, it's not really a program that needs to be
updated constantly

It's fairly easy to use and works well

Keep in mind that if you use the Linux distro's repo, AIDE's configs might
change between one distro to another, so you might want to do a manual
install instead.

It’s a quiet list but my experience is that it is very helpful when you need it. You might take a look at the distro available on Debian if you have the option. I don’t recommend that one that Red Hat provides.

Why?

In short: Yes, it is alive and the development will continue anytime
soon ;-).

Glad to hear it, and thanks to all for the feedback. One wonders about the
future of a project without development, even when the code is relatively
stable. There are always improvements to be made, bugs to be fixed, and
features to add.
